Tons of  Personal Record Times!

Swimmers from the Northern Neck Family YMCA Striper Team competed in the Patriot Masters Sprint Classic Meet held on October 24 at George Mason University Aquatics & Fitness Center in Fairfax.

Participants included Richard (Dick) Scott who captured yet another Virginia state record, this record for the 50-yard breast stroke.  It joins the other 17 state records for numerous events in long course meters, short course meters, and short course yards, which the 75-year-old Scott has broken.

First time masters competitors Susan Stallings, Carolyn Mullaney, Scott Kauffman, and Will Stallings all attained personal record times and award places. Kauffman finished first in all of his swims. Andrea Latell swam all personal record times in her nine events.  The group including coach, Kathryn Gregory, returned home with a total of 13 first places, 5 seconds, 6 thirds, 5 fourths, 4 fifths, and personal records in most events.

Will Stallings received the “IM: Do It All” award for successfully doing a legal individual medley, consisting of all four competitive strokes, in a meet.
